Resume Black BeltFrequently asked questions
What is Resume Black Belt?
An AI tool that scores how well your resume fits a job posting, shows you how to close the gaps, builds an interview Prep Guide for that job, and can rewrite your resume for it.
Is the Free Resume Score really free?
Yes. Paste a job posting and your resume to see your overall score out of 100. No signup.
Why do you ask for my email?
Entering your email unlocks your category breakdown for free: your Keywords, Skills, Experience and Formatting scores, each with a one-line summary. We only send you weekly job-search tips if you tick that box, and you can unsubscribe anytime. We never sell your email. See our Privacy page.
What does the score look at?
Keyword match with the posting, skills overlap, how relevant your experience is, and formatting that resume-screening software can read. It's an estimate, not a prediction of what any employer will do.
What's in the $5.99 Full Report + Prep Guide?
Every gap we found, your matched and missing keywords, and specific fixes for each section of your resume. Plus an interview Prep Guide built from the job posting, the company and your resume: a company snapshot, the role's top must-haves mapped to your experience, 10-12 likely questions with answer outlines, tough spots to expect, questions to ask, a 30-60-90 day plan, salary research steps and day-before and day-of checklists. You also get the 10-Point Resume Checklist as a bonus.
What's in the $9.99 Complete Package?
Everything in the Full Report + Prep Guide, plus your resume rewritten for that job as DOCX, PDF and TXT, with a list of what changed. The checklist bonus is included.
Will you add skills or experience I don't have?
No. Employers, job titles, dates and degrees are kept exactly as you wrote them. Anything we can't trace to your resume or your own answers is removed and listed so you can see it. The Prep Guide's answer outlines also use only what's on your resume. Where you need a story we can't see, it tells you to prepare a real one.
Is the Prep Guide's company info verified?
Facts from the job posting are labeled as such. Anything from general public knowledge is labeled "verify", so check it on the company's own site. We don't make up company numbers or facts.
Can I use a LinkedIn or Indeed link?
We don't open links from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor or ZipRecruiter. Paste the job text instead. Links from Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby job boards work directly.
Can I buy the report or the Complete Package now?
Not yet. Checkout is coming soon. The Free Resume Score and the free category breakdown work today.
Do you guarantee interviews or offers?
No. We help you present your real experience clearly. Hiring decisions are up to employers.
Are you affiliated with the employers you list?
No. Company names are used only to describe who a guide is about.
Is a person reading my resume?
No. Resume Black Belt is AI software. See our Privacy page for how your data is handled.
What's coming later?
A Practice Pack with scored practice answers, and a Live Interview mock session.
